Fortnite Sidekicks가 섬 제작자를 위한 스크립트 가능한 NPC로 전환

Epic은 Sidekicks를 이제 UEFN에서 스크립트 가능한 NPC로 사용할 수 있다고 밝혔으며, Sidekicks를 중심으로 제작한 섬은 7월 23일부터 게시할 수 있는 자격을 얻게 된다.

On June 5, 2026, Epic said Fortnite Sidekicks are now available as scriptable NPCs in Unreal Editor for Fortnite and Fortnite Creative. The company says creators can customize how Sidekicks look, script behavior with Verse, and animate them. Epic’s post gives the details.

Publishing starts July 23

Epic says islands using Sidekicks will be eligible for publishing starting July 23, and those islands can qualify for a new creature-based Collection page as well as additional Discover featuring through Epic’s Picks and a Callout. The announcement also points creators to the forums for submission details.

Sidekicks can be scripted in Verse.
Creators can bring a player’s own Sidekick into an island.
Epic says the new islands target creature-style genres.
A creature-based Collection page is planned for Discover.

The post frames Sidekicks as useful for monster battlers, cozy farming games, creature-collection RPGs, and companion adventures. Epic also says the feature adds new assets in UEFN and Fortnite Creative designed for those game types. Source.
