Fortnite Sidekicks turn into scriptable NPCs for island builders
Epic says Sidekicks are now usable as scriptable NPCs in UEFN, with islands built around them eligible to publish starting July 23.

On June 5, 2026, Epic said Fortnite Sidekicks are now available as scriptable NPCs in Unreal Editor for Fortnite and Fortnite Creative. The company says creators can customize how Sidekicks look, script behavior with Verse, and animate them. Epic’s post gives the details.
Publishing starts July 23
Epic says islands using Sidekicks will be eligible for publishing starting July 23, and those islands can qualify for a new creature-based Collection page as well as additional Discover featuring through Epic’s Picks and a Callout. The announcement also points creators to the forums for submission details.
