Epic announced on June 5, 2026 that Fortnite Sidekicks are now available as scriptable NPCs in UEFN and Fortnite Creative. Epic says creators can start building with them immediately, while publishing for these islands opens on July 23. Fortnite.com
The company says creators can customize how Sidekicks look, script their behavior with Verse, and animate them. Epic also says a player’s own Sidekick can be brought into an experience, making the companion part of the gameplay loop. Fortnite.com
