Fortnite 41.20 wprowadza riggi Sidekick, widżety UMG i głosy LLM

Epic’s 41.20 Fortnite ecosystem update landed on July 16 and adds several creator-facing tools at once, including Control Rig support for Sidekicks, in-world UMG Widgets, and updated LLM conversation behavior. Epic says the first wave of Sidekick rigs covers Dog Large, Dog Small, and Cat Small archetypes. Release notes
What creators can use now
- Sidekicks can be animated with the same rig structure Epic uses internally.
- UMG Widgets can now be placed in the world instead of only standard UI flows.
- New Fortnite items in the update include the Bank Shot Pistol, Smoke Grenade, and Friend Zone item.
The update also says 36 Fortnite characters now have consistent voices and personas when used in LLM conversations. Epic adds that a subset of Fortnite IP characters will be locked to their voices and personas starting with v41.30 on July 30. Fortnite news
Why this matters for published islands
Epic says islands featuring Sidekicks and Creatures-themed assets can be published starting July 23, giving creators a near-term window to build creature-focused experiences around the new tooling.
