Crash Bandicoot et Spyro débarquent dans Override cette semaine

Epic has revealed the next pair of guests for Chapter 7 Season 4: Override: Crash Bandicoot arrives as a full Outfit and Spyro the Dragon joins as a Sidekick. Both were announced on 25 August with a trailer, and both are described as landing later this week in the Item Shop rather than in the Battle Pass (Beebom).

What is actually in the set

• Crash Bandicoot — a playable Outfit with a modern interpretation plus a deliberately blocky retro style modelled on his 1996 PlayStation look.
• Aku Aku Back Bling and an apple-topped Pickaxe shown alongside the Outfit in Epic's trailer.
• Crash's dance as a purchasable Emote — the one piece of the set most likely to outlive the collab in everyone's locker.
• Spyro the Dragon as a Sidekick, with extra edit styles in pink, lime and blue colourways.

The Sidekick slot is the interesting call here. A four-legged dragon does not map onto Fortnite's humanoid skeleton without looking wrong, and Epic has been using Sidekicks for exactly this class of character — a cosmetic companion rather than a compromised Outfit. Beebom notes Spyro's look draws on Spyro: A Realm Beyond, the title shown at this year's Xbox Games Showcase.

Nobody has published a date or a price

This is the part worth being careful about. Epic has confirmed the characters and the week; it has not published an exact Item Shop date or a V-Bucks price. Specific 27–29 August claims are circulating from leak accounts, and until the Shop rotates or Epic's own channels say otherwise those remain speculation (IDC Games).

If Epic keeps to the pattern it has used all season, the pair lands as a weekly Gaming Legends drop, which would put it at the end of the week — but that is an inference from cadence, not an announcement.

Why this fits the season

Override launched on 20 August built entirely around gaming history: an arcade on the island, cartridge mechanics, and Override Consoles that let a squad rewrite match rules for the whole server. Sonic unlocked instantly with the Battle Pass, while Joker, Sora, Mega Man and now Crash were always staged to arrive in the Shop across the season rather than all at once.

For creators, the practical read is the same one that applied to the Sonic drop: a Gaming Legends release moves Discover traffic for a day or two, and retro-themed islands catch the spillover. If you have a platformer or arcade experience published, this is the week to make sure its thumbnail and tags are doing their job.
