Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3 'Runners' Launches With Sprites and a Cel-Shaded John Wick

Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3, titled Runners, went live on June 6, 2026, following the Shattered live event the day before. According to Fortnite Tracker, the season is built around Sprites and fast-paced movement, continuing a storyline tied to The Foundation, the Ice King, and a returning Dr. Slone.

Sprites and the movement-focused loadout

Sprites are small creatures that attach to players and grant buffs and abilities. They level up three ways: exploration (opening chests), eliminations, and extraction. Players bank Sprite Dust from successful extractions to summon previously collected Sprites at the start of a match or to upgrade their powers, with progression rewards for mastering max-level Sprites. The lineup spans Rare (Earth, Fire, Water), Epic (Duck, Ghost, Demon, King), Legendary (Dream, Punk), and a Mythic Zero Point variant. New mobility includes the Seven Sliders and the Seven Power Boots, with Shock Rocks arriving later in the season.

A cel-shaded John Wick headlines the Battle Pass

The Battle Pass features eight skins: The Guardian, Heatwave PJ, Vanguard Slone, Dylan, Cluster, The Voidblade, Wolfe, and the headline collaboration, John Wick — Pen & Ink. The crossover renders the character in a cel-shaded Pen & Ink comic art style created specifically for Runners, and arrives alongside his Dog (Pen & Ink) as a Sidekick. Buying the pass instantly unlocks The Guardian, a customizable mech suit driven by a Sprite, with extracted Sprites unlocking as style options.

• New weapons include the Extending Focus Shotgun, Surgical Burst Rifle, Chaos Exploder Rifle, and the Lancehead Pistol (John Wick's 21-round sidearm).
• Returning weapons include the Striker Pump, Maven Auto Shotgun, Ranger Pistol, Stinger SMG, Hunting Rifle, and Chaos Reloader Shotgun.
• Map changes swap Dark Dominion for a tropical POI with an exposed Zero Point center, and add the new duck-themed Duck Mansion.

On the competitive side, ranks have been reset and a new Unreal Legends tier requires a 2,500+ Skill Rating and a Top 500 placement. A Bus Exfil mechanic is also planned for later in the season, giving the Battle Bus a small chance to rift back into the map so multiple teams can board and secure a win.
