Sony ran a State of Play on September 3 and the interesting number is not how many games appeared — it is how many walked out with a date. Of the 15 titles on the show's line-up, 10 left with a specific day on the calendar, and only five settled for a year. That ratio is unusual for a showcase, and it turns what looked like a trailer reel into a release schedule that runs from next week to April 2027.
What actually got a date
Roundups from Dexerto and Game Informer agree on the dated list, even where they differ on platform line-ups:
- Marvel's Wolverine — September 15, 2026 (PS5)
- Resident Evil, Zach Cregger's film adaptation — premieres September 18, 2026
- Ghost of Yotei's new content — October 1, 2026
- Crimson Desert: Charting the Unknown — October 15, 2026
- Final Fantasy Resonance — October 22, 2026
- Hunter's Moon — October 26, 2026
- Until Dawn 2 — January 28, 2027
- Metro 2039 — February 4, 2027
- Gundam Rogue Orbit — March 5, 2027
- Final Fantasy VII Revelation — April 8, 2027
The six-week crunch
Six of those ten land between September 15 and October 26 — a 42-day stretch that now holds a first-party exclusive, a major film tie-in, a large expansion for a 2025 open-world game, a DLC drop and two new releases. Anyone budgeting time or money for the autumn is choosing between them, not sequencing them. The gap after that is just as sharp: nothing dated at all in November or December from this show, then Until Dawn 2 and Metro 2039 arriving a single week apart at the end of January.
What only got a year
Five titles were shown without a day attached — a reminder that a trailer is not a commitment:
- Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance — 2027
- Maneater 2 — 2027
- Uncanyon — 2027
- Rev. NOiR — 2027
- Rhapsody in Scarlet — no window given
Worth flagging on one entry: Final Fantasy VII Revelation's April 8, 2027 date is agreed across roundups, but the platform lists are not. Both Dexerto and Game Informer print a multi-platform line-up while PlayStation's own communication has focused on PS5, so treat anything beyond PS5 as unconfirmed by the primary source until Square Enix says otherwise.
Two things shipped the same night
The show also did something showcases rarely do: it made two things playable immediately. Double Fine's narrative adventure Keeper went live on PS5 the same day, and Square Enix put out a free Final Fantasy Resonance demo covering the opening through the end of Chapter 1, with save data that carries into the full game — confirmed on the PlayStation Blog alongside a Sephiroth reveal. For a show whose whole shape was future dates, those two were the only items you could act on before the credits rolled.
The practical read: if you play on PS5, your next seven weeks are already spoken for, and the rest of the show is a 2027 problem.
