Leaks put a mini-season on November 1 and Chapter 8 on December 5

A leaked update calendar circulating since September 11 claims Epic has Chapter 7 Season 4 ending on October 31, a mini-season filling November, and Chapter 8 Season 1 opening on December 5. Two days later, a second datamine attached a name to that November gap: One Piece. Neither has been announced by Epic, and the only correct way to read any of it is as a datamine.

We are covering it because the shape of the calendar matters to anyone publishing an island, not because the dates are settled. They are not.

What the leak actually says

• September 17 — the next update of the current season
• October 1 and October 15 — both tagged Fortnitemares
• October 31 — Chapter 7 Season 4: Override ends
• November 1 and November 12 — the mini-season and its one update
• December 5 — Chapter 8 Season 1 begins
• December 17 — Winterfest, then January 7

The list comes from the datamining account HYPEX, was written up by Vice on September 11, and is described there as what Epic currently has scheduled internally — an internal schedule being exactly the kind of thing that moves.

The One Piece piece

On September 13, Vice reported that dataminers found a long One Piece description — the Gold Roger opening monologue — inside files shipped with a Rocket League update. Insider SamLeakss and dataminer Loolo Leaks both surfaced it, and the reading is that the crossover is the mini-season itself rather than a separate collab drop.

Worth keeping in proportion: a description string in a sibling game's files establishes that the asset exists somewhere in Epic's pipeline. It does not establish a date, a format, or that the thing ships at all.

The date already moved once

The same account previously put Chapter 8 at November 28. The new calendar says December 5. That is a week of drift inside one leak source in a matter of months, and it is the most useful fact in this story: the calendar is real enough to leak and soft enough to slide.

Why creators should care about a mini-season

If the dates hold, the window between October 31 and December 5 is roughly five weeks that belongs to neither season. A mini-season is short enough that a themed island has almost no runway to build an audience, and long enough that discovery gets reshuffled twice in six weeks — once on November 1, once on December 5.

The practical read: treat November as a gap to hold position through rather than a season to launch into, and keep the bigger publish for the Chapter 8 opening, when player counts and browsing both spike. And do not build a crossover island around a leak — an Epic-run collab brings its own rules about what creators may reference.
