Epic has posted scheduled maintenance for Epic Online Services (EOS) on July 21, 2026 at 6:00 AM UTC, with 60 minutes of downtime and up to 1 hour of degraded service afterward. The notice says the work is intended to improve uptime and stability. Epic status page lists the affected services and currently shows Fortnite, UEFN, and the broader Epic Games ecosystem as operational.
What may be affected
- Sessions: existing sessions may time out; new invites may fail; searching and matchmaking may be unavailable.
- Lobbies: existing lobbies may fail; players may be disconnected; creating or destroying lobbies may fail.
- Custom invites: invites may fail during the maintenance window and immediately after.
The status page also shows no incidents reported today for Fortnite, while Sketchfab is listed as having degraded performance. For island teams and live-service creators, the practical takeaway is to avoid scheduling launches or playtests inside the maintenance window if EOS dependencies matter. Epic status page.
The maintenance notice was posted on June 22, 2026, and remains the clearest source for timing and impact. Epic says services should automatically resume normal function once the maintenance completes. Epic status page.
