Epic’s support pages now say Rocket Racing will be removed from Fortnite in October 2026 and that all UEFN islands built with Rocket Racing templates will also be removed. Epic says Rocket Racing quests will stop, and there will be no additional Ranked rewards for the mode.

What remains, and what changes

  • Epic says Vehicle Locker items are not affected.
  • Epic says racing tools will be added to UEFN, and compatible content can be moved to standalone islands before October.
  • Ballistic and Festival Battle Stage are also listed on the support page as retired modes, with their removal tied to the 40.20 release on April 16, 2026.

The support article is the clearest current source on the transition, and it is important because it directly affects creator-built islands rather than only live game modes. Epic says it cannot share further details beyond the notice itself.

For creators, the practical takeaway is that Rocket Racing template projects are on a clock. Islands that depend on those templates need migration planning before October, while creators interested in racing gameplay are being pointed toward future UEFN racing tools.
